Pancake Day , or Shrove Tuesday, is celebrated because it is the final chance for Christians to eat sweet treats before Lent. The date changes depending on Shrove Tuesday. Its based upon beliefs surrounding spring time and Easter. Christians use pancakes because of a simple thing: their ingredients. Shrove Tuesday, or Pancake Day, is celebrated the day before Ash Wednesday. This year Pancake Day fell on 5th March.
