Wednesday 27th November, was Lancashire day and the ambassadors went to Northlight, which is next to the Leisure box. However, all the children celebrated it on Friday 29th November. There were lots of activities like speaking the old Lancashire language. There were also art activities and a bit of learning with a food stall in the hall. It was not a day with no uniform however it was still amazing and exciting. There was also outfits we could wear and dress up and play with our friends. Not forgetting the yummy food in the hall was food stalls there was Parkin and some drink ( Vimto and an other Lancashire drink) also some biscuits also there were some cheese and crackers. We had a lot of fun on Lancashire day having fun with our friends and eating yummy foods also playing some games and coloring which was very fun. We would like to give a big thank you to Mrs Woods and every other staff members who helped the children learn new things they never knew about on Lancashire day.

Year 5 have recently visited Tatton Park. On the 12 of November, 5KJ went to Tatton Park. 5AD went on the 13 of November. The reason they went was because year 5 are learning about the Victorian era and Tatton Park is a Victorian mansion. The year 5 learnt how to make scones they also learnt how to make a fire from wood, newspaper and coal. They were split into groups. They got to look at the garden from the room that they made the fire in. In the cellar was a wine section. In the cellar, there was meat covered in salt and wrapped with hessian. There was a coal room next to a track. The boys had to put their hands behind them and the girls had to put it in front of them. Upstairs, their were old pictures of kings and queen. Also they made beds.
On the 7th of November, year 3 went to Skipton castle and they have learnt some new things about it. They got a free tour guide The children learned that the best prisoners get the best food. It is approximately 900 years old. They went into the tower. There were square shaped toilets no showers. The prisoners fell 40 feet above ground if they annoyed the soldiers. The first activity was to remember the name of the towers. They also got to sit on the cannons ,that were rusty. There were several dirty wood and only 1 table didn't break or get as dirty as the other tables. There were some arrow loops. The only people who were allowed to enter the castle was if they had to do jobs in the olden times. The year 3 children, who went to Skipton castle, also done more activities and finally they came back to school therefore they could go home at normal time.
On the 5th November, it was bonfire night and the lots and lots of fireworks. At Townly Park, there were lots of fireworks and also a funfair and it is also on at that same place on Saturday 9 November. We celebrate bonfire night because once a man called Faulks and his helpers tried to bomb the house of parliament. He didn't like what the king and the mp thought therefore he tried to bomb it on the day the king was visiting the mp. However the king found out and some people who worked for the king stopped the bombing and the man Faulks and his helpers died. This is the reason we celebrate bonfire night because the king did not die. This story tells us that do not try to kill someone if you don,t agree with them.
Year 6 are doing a performance based on WW1 and WW2. Instead of songs they are doing poems about the wars. It is their last performance therefore it should be fantastic. It is not that long. Year 6 have done it about the 2 world wars because it is close to armistice day and they will perform it on that day.
It was an amazing experience the children enjoyed when they were at Waddow Hall. All the children enjoyed the activities and the food. The marshmallows were extremely nice and we also roasted starburst over a campfire after we sang songs and danced. There was story time and hot chocolate before bed. Everyone had a smile on their face and were impeccable. Mujtabaa stated, "This is the best trip iv'e ever been to." Hamza Aleem exclaimed,"I loved it." Farhan stated," It was absolutely fantastic!" It was amazing I hope all the other children in the lower years will enjoy it too. Waddow Hall is one of the best trips you can go to in PPA (Pendle Primary Academy). There is a bunch of fun, exiting activities such as zip wire, exploring inside of caves, camp fire, chocolate pudding (very yummy) and lots more cool stuff to do. However only year 6 can go because it is for 1 night and 2 days (this year it is 2 nights and 3 days). It is in Clitheroe which is about a half an hour drive in the bus. Also a staff member used to work there for approximately 6 years. It is such an amazing place to go visit and sleep. Surly, every child who has been there has enjoyed the experience.
The new year 6 have got their jobs like blog squad, tech team, play leader and many more. Everyone in year 6 has a job people have asked a job however most of the children in year 6 have got what they wanted. On the other hand, some children haven't got a job they wanted probably because they haven't done a good enough report, been on holiday and things like that. Most of the children have started their job on the first week back however some like play leader and marking squad have started their job on Monday 9 September. The year 6 kids have been busy doing their jobs they have got. Some have even missed their play times and lunch times doing their jobs. They have tried their very best to do their jobs. The children have been doing their jobs extremely well as they have supposed to be.
On Tuesday 3 September, children have come back to school and start learning after a long summer holiday. Know they are going to learn more harder things than they learnt before the summer holidays. Children have been playing nicely so far and hopefully they will keep it that way. Also the more learning the kids do the more clever they will get,. School has changed quite a bit. With new brain boxes, it has change more because the reading pages have home and school adult signature for each day not just home and 1 school but 6 school and home signature both for each day. Pendle Primary Academy have lots of websites such as TTrockstars Spelling frame and math frame which can improve all your knowledge. Therefore you don't be bored just doing work you can play online computer games.
SATS 2019 is taking place on Monday 13th May. Year 6 are going to be taking the tests that they have been preparing for all year. Both class's have worked very hard and are expected to pass their tests with great scores.
To make year 6 more confident, we are going to have mock SATS. Mock SATS is exactly like the real SATS. We have mock SATS to prepare coming in at 8:30am in the morning for breakfast club, test times and our test administrators. Then the real SATS will take place. The children will come in at 8:30am, have some breakfast with their friends, then they will have a small break and then they will take their first test (GPAS and Spelling). |
