On Tuesday 27th November, 12 children from year 5 and year 6 were chosen to represent the school by playing a variety of sports which were chest pass, vertical jump, long jump, triple jump, javelin and some relay races. It was an amazing and tiring experience however we came first in some sports. When we came to the sports hall it was packed with brilliant competitors and we knew that today was going to be hard. Every single child who participated tried our very best which made the coaches , who taught us, very happy.
On Wednesday 5th December, 10 boys of the Pendle Primary Academy football team were chosen to participate in a tournament. Surprisingly, we came second in our league and 3rd in the whole of Pendle, but we did try our best so in our minds we went home as the winners. We were chosen to play in this tournament especially because the school football teams needed to show how much pressure they could handle also because the lucky team, who came first would go on to play in Preston for their name to be on the cup of the best football team in Pendle. Also, that the team which had won the finals in Preston would've been announced as the best school football team in Pendle. This is a picture of the tournament.
This year the Science Explorers, who were from Lancaster University, came to talk to us about plants and showed us how to make plants on Minecraft. On Minecraft, we challenged ourselves to try to make the best plant on Minecraft Education Edition. During that lesson, we looked at a various amount of seeds and plants parts. We put ourselves with partners and took turns to build our own plant. as we started to create our plants, we were all getting quite annoyed because it wasn't going our way so they showed us some tricks. It was an amazing time and we loved making plants and seeds to grow our own plants.
In PPA we have wonderful activities and amazing teachers , however our viewers behind the screen never really get to see what our fabulous school looks like from the inside. Some Blog squad members have took some pictures to show you what a normal day in Pendle Primary Academy is like.
