Fantastic facts...

  • The Roman empire was one of the strongest empires in history with one of strongest armies in the world.

  • The Romans built new roads for troops to move quickly and supplies were transported effectively and efficiently.

  • Legionary soldiers were Roman citizens and auxiliary soldiers were men who did not reside in Rome.

  • Soldiers had to join for at least 25 years, they were not allowed to marry and were given money and a piece of land when they retired.

  • Soldiers had to march 30km holding 25kg of armour as part of their training.

  • They had the best techniques when it came to fighting such as; the tortoise, the wedge and the repel-cavalry.
