Snow Day Home Learning - Monday 6th January

We might not all be in school today, but that won't stop us learning!  Below are some home learning ideas for you to have a go at today. 

​There will be Dojos for all children who bring home learning activities into school when school is next open.

​If you have photos or electronic work (PowerPoints, videos etc.) ask an adult to e-mail them to your teacher using the e-mail addresses below.
Don't forget to keep up with your spellings, maths facts, reading and completing your Brain Box.

Reception
The Reception topic this half-term is 'Wonderful World', have a go with your family at creating a snow sculpture of an animal.

Year 1
Year 1's topic is Going on Safari'.

Year 2
In art, you will be learning about the outdoor art created by Andy Goldsworthy, who also used snow to create his artwork.  Take a look at this Goldsworthy snow art...

Year 3
This term you will be studying the ancient civilisations of the The Greeks and Romans, who believed in lots of mythical creatures and Gods.  Rather than making a regular snowman today, why not create a Greek-inspired mythical snowman!

Year 4
Can you create a snow sculpture based on the story of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory that you will be studying this half-term?  It could be the grandparents in their bed, a giant Wonka bar or how about recreating Wonka-land?!

Year 5
Thinking back to your Space topic, have a go at creating a space-themed snow sculpture.  It could be a planet, spaceship, rocket or even an alien...!  Get creative!

Year 6
Get creative with your snow sculpture, try something a bit different from a regular snowman, create a sculpture from snow and anything else you can find and safely use.  It could be anything you can imagine!
