Stockport Air Raid Shelters - Stockport

Do...

  • Build your own model air raid shelter using an old shoe box.

  • Make do and mend was a slogan of WW2, why not have a go yourself and try to repair or repurpose some old clothes at home.  Check with an adult first to make sure it's ok for you to do it and take care if you are using sharp needles.

  • People were also encouraged to grow their own vegetables - ask an adult to help you plant a vegetable plant or some seeds in your garden or in a pot in the yard.  Can you 'Dig for Victory'?
