This year in Pendle Primary Academy, we have celebrated World Book Day the theme was read and relax. We have worn our pyjamas and we could bring a dressing gown and some slippers. We have had so much FUN. We had also been given a £1 token for a relaxing book at the end of the day. I recommend this for other schools because it is very relaxing and fun. This is a very relaxing and fun theme because it had been a whole day with pyjamas. I liked this theme because it was very quiet.

In Pendle Primary Academy we have arranged a cafe in Naania. Every Tuesday if you come and get a cup of tea and a biscuit we will charge you 50 p. The way to get in Naania is to go to the main entrance and take a left. The Friends of Pendle Primary Academy will be running the café and helping you with anything you want. If you want you can find Mrs Abid or Mrs Ashraf and ask them about the cafe.
This year we did Find your Brave Day were we would be facing challenges and fears. We won’t be doing anything crazy like turning off the light and staying there. There was a giant inflatable climbing wall. Miss Jerman had already picked what classes would be doing what. Year 6 only got to go into the creepy crawly room. There will also be 10-year anniversary of Place 2 Be also Leala held a café for parents, which was free, some year 5 children read out a poem that was about Place 2 Be. I also read out a poem. The younger kids ( reception )and year 6 did not go on the giant wall instead the year 6 have to face their fears with touching creatures and later on in year 6 will go to Leisure box in July to climb the climbing walls. On the 6th of March 2020, Pendle Primary Academy will be doing a pajama day and we are going to relax and do fun work instead of hard work. It is going to be very fun because the whole day is going to be about reading. Even reception are doing this event because if they didn’t it wouldn’t be fair that we are comfy and they aren’t. Pajama day is the best day ever because I love to be comfy. This year our pajama day is about read and relax. I would recommend this day to other primary schools this is because children love to be in their pajamas and they would be very happy.
On the 6th March, World Book Day is placed. To celebrate World Book Day children will wear their pajamas to school (we will be celebrating it a day after the actual world book day is on Thursday but we will have it on a Friday). Our topic for World Book Day is reading relaxing and having fun we will be doing work in the morning and afternoon since it is World Book Day so we will not. If we do not wish to wear pajamas we can wear our school uniform but if you are wearing pajamas we can also wear some slippers and a little friend (a teddy).
On the 7th of February, we had a day where children do no work but they had to face their biggest fear! There was a big inflatable climbing wall which we had to climb all the way to the top and over the top to the other side. There was also a creepy crawlies stall were the children had to hold the insects. Everyone in Pendle Primary Academy loved this event. Place2Be had a 10 year anniversary in our school so some people in year 5 did a play for the parents. Reception did not go on the big inflatable climbing wall in the hall this is because they are too small to get to the top and over to the bottom. For the 10 year anniversary, there was a café with foods and drinks for free! Some year 5 children did a presentation to parents to show what Place2Be can do to children with problems. These problems can be like getting bullied, breaking up with your best friend or friends, you don’t have any friends and about your feelings. PPA (Pendle primary academy) went back to school on the 25th of Tuesday. Reception are learning about who help us. Year 1 are learning about houses and homes. Year 2 are learning about traditional tales. Year 3 are learning about The Romans. Year 4 are learning about Inventions. Year 5 are learning about earth and space and last Year 6 learning about the railway children.
On the 7th of February on Friday, PPA (Pendle Primary Academy) participated in many activities ,which involved being brave and facing their fears. On Friday, PPA also had a climbing wall but unfortunately year 6 didn't got to climb it (since they are to big) and reception didn't get to ( because they were to small). Only the younger children in our school could like year 1, 2, 3,4 and year 5. The activities PPA did were hold creepy crawlies (spiders, snakes, giant snails, lizards and geckos and last but not least a hedgehog who is related to an elephant!!). We also learnt how to save people if they were chocking and burning. There was also a free cafe that went very very well and because of that we will be having a free cafe every Tuesday but next term it may not be free since we think of raising money for charity.
On the 29th of January 2020, children from Pendle Primary Academy that enjoy singing and dancing will be going to Young Voices in Manchester Arena. The ride to Manchester Arena was calm but boring some people even went to sleep in the coach! When we go we will practice all of the songs so that we know them of by heart. We will practice for 3 hours but then at half past 5 our parents will come to watch and enjoy the songs that we are going to sing for them. We leave school at 12:00 and the ride takes 30-40 minutes. When we arrive we will eat some fruit so that we don’t get too hungry and we don’t fall asleep whilst singing the amazing songs that we have learnt. The school will provide a packed tea, however, we have to bring some snacks and drinks. The children that are going to go to Young Voices will have to wear a white t-shirt. Another amazing thing is that we get lights that we shine to make each and every child there stand out. All of the children that are going will have an amazing time at Young Voices.
On the 6th of January 2020, children have come back to school and the Christmas holidays have passed. It is also a new year and were are now in 2020 not 2019. On the 20th December 2019, school finished at 12:30 for the Christmas holidays. During the holidays some of the children have gone to some exciting places and for their homework they had to complete the sheet they were given. The looked like a grid and you had to tick it everyday to show you completed it. On the 20th December 2019, school finished at 12:30.
