  • Dinosaurs walked the Earth for over 165 million years.

  • The dinosaurs became extinct around 66 million years ago.

  • The word dinosaur comes from the Greek language and means ‘terrible lizard’. 

  • The dinosaur with the longest name was Micropachycephalosaurus meaning "tiny thick-headed lizard".

  • The T Rex looked the most ferocious of all the dinosaurs, but it was Utahraptor that was the fiercest of all.

  • A person who studies dinosaurs is known as a paleontologist.
