Below are the homework tasks for this longer-than usual weekend. There will be treasure or Vivos for all children who complete these tasks and bring them into school on Monday. Be Inspired! Reception - When you are out in the snow look out for animal footprints – what can you see?
Can you take photo or draw a picture?
Make some snowballs – 10 for you and 10 for your friend – count them carefully to make sure you have the same amount! Now, what can you make with them?

English - Write an acrostic poem for SNOW DAY. The first letter of each line must spell, SNOW DAY. |
Maths - Go outside and safely build a snowman with your family. When you have built your snow man write a list of all the 2D and 3D shapes you can see. Don’t forget that snowmen have eyes, a nose and a mouth.
Ask an adult to take a picture of you and your snow man so that you can show everyone in class. Time to get wrapped up and go outside to start building! |

1. Each snow flake has 6 sides (or points), design 3 snowflakes. Click the snowflake to visit a website that might help you! 2. If 15 snow flakes fell every minute, how many would fall in one hour? 2 hours? One day? 3. Sid the shark says, "All snowflakes have 6 sides so they must all be the same sort of hexagon" - Do you agree? Explain your answer. |
